January 2016

Hello folks!
Here we are starting a new year of blogs, so if there is anybody who is receiving the monthly 'blog uploaded' email who doesn't wish to receive it, please let me know and I'll remove you from my blog list.

January was quite a quiet month for us on the whole, so there's not loads of photos, but there is 1 very short video.

We started off with my friend Eileen's 70th birthday party which was very good and we enjoyed it very much. Her daughter and family had arranged it all for her, and the food was delicious. The company (mostly bowling friends) was also good and we had a lot of laughs - as well as plenty of wine, chuckle! Here's a few photos.

Our John also sent us a photo of them all on the ski slopes in Austria. They had a wonderful time there, staying with friends, and didn't fall over too often!

If any of you are interested in seeing some of their holiday photos (there's hundreds of them!) here's the link:

They arrived safely back in Perth recently - with 150kg of luggage! - and stayed for a couple of days with us before returning home to Denmark (WA). It was great to hear the kids telling stories of all the adventures they had and they have all grown so much we couldn't believe it! Emil especially - he is now a head taller than I am, chuckle!

Catching up on the news...

Off back home to Denmark with all the gear! Sorry about the quality and bad shots, but I had to run indoors quickly to get my camera before they drove off!

Other news: Mike and Jo have been meeting up on their bikes most mornings and I join them on Sundays usually. Alex and Lizzie have been enjoying the break from Uni and Si is still busy renovating.
Bowls season is now in full swing and our Pennant Division is still maintaining it's 3rd place on the ladder - let's hope that continues for the rest of the season!

Mike has finally got his Spitfire Mark 2 running, though the engine is still not quite big enough to get it off the ground. Here's a short video clip of it. (Bear in mind that he was trying to use the remote controls and video at the same time, chuckle!)

Finally here's some garden photos.

Fragipani.......

.... and a busy bee on our 'Spanish Flag'
The weather this month has been very unpredictable - not a bit like our usual summer. We have had batches of several days of 35 - 42 degrees C interspersed with cooler days of 23 - 27 degrees with heavy rain and storms! It seems the whole world's weather is out of sync at the moment! (And they try to tell us there is NO global warming!!!!)

Well, that it until next month.
Enjoy!
