May 2011

Hi all

I've decided to use this blog page as my news page from now on as it will be a lot quicker and easier for me! You will still be able to get to our previous photos link and other favourite links from here by clicking on the 'Our web page' link on the left hand side of the page.

So! Here we go! I'm starting off with a photo of all of us in 2nd Division at an end of season lunch, which we actually had in April. We had a good season this year, ending up 2nd on the ladder!

This year we spent Mother's Day afternoon with Tricia, John and family on the boat on the river. It was a lovely afternoon.

Next we had Awards Night at the club where me and our Ladies Triples and Ladies Fours received our 'runners up' awards.

We also stayed in Fremantle overnight at the Port Mill B & B, (photos of the aptio we overlooked from our room) and had a lovely meal at the Gypsy Tapas Bar. This was a treat from family and friends for our Golden Wedding anniversary, which was actually on 1st April, so we've made it last about 6 weeks, chuckle!

Jo, Alex and Lizzie have also had paintings in competitions this month and managed to win a few prizes between them! Mike has not been as lucky yet, but has a couple of entries coming up in the next couple of months.

Finally we have just come back from an unscheduled visit to Denmark (WA) to see, John, Silvia and the kids. The weather was mostly good, though we did get a lot of rain during the nights, and it was quite cold in the early mornings and evenings. We stopped overnight in the van at the Warren national Park on the way down, and here are some of the photos we took:

We had a lovely time at John's. Here's some photos of their cockerel, river walks and beach scenes:

Garden flowers:

While I played bowls one afternoon, Mike went for a long walk and found more strange mushrooms!

During the week, we went to the Porongurups (a mountain range):
'Tree in a rock' - the roots are IN the rock! Are there spirits in this tree?

Emil got a Certificate of Excellence at the school assembly on the morning we left:

Here he is..................................................................and a big 'well done!' hug from Nanny!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the new style web page. Please let me know if you were not able to view it!
