November 2011

Hello again! - Here’s the November news!

Firstly, I’ve discovered that if you click on a photo, you will get a new black window up with ALL the photos showing at the bottom and you can just click on the 1st one showing and it will go on to the next etc etc, right to the end. I have put a title on the 1st photo of each event, so you know what you’re looking at, chuckle!
If you want to get back to the blog, just close the window. (click on the X top right hand side of window)

My birthday party with all the family was the first event this month, although it was 5 days after my ‘real’ birthday. John, Silvia and the kids came up from Denmark to celebrate it with us. We had planned to meet up at the river for a picnic, but as the weather was a bit ‘iffy’ we decided to have a Champagne Breakfast at home instead. John and Jo took charge, so we had nothing to do anyway, chuckle!

Next came Lizzie’s presentation at the Canning Show awards as she got a prize for best painting in the 13 – 17 year olds. We had drinks and entrees, then a huge buffet style meal (hot and colds), then more presentations for the adult entries, then dessert. It was a really nice evening.

We also went to Tricia and John’s for Lizzie’s (belated) and Simon’s joint birthday celebration, where John and Tricia made a huge paella, and Jo made – once again – her delicious ‘omelette surprise’ (Baked Alaska). John and Silvia were unable to come up again for this, but all the rest of the family were there and a lot of friends.

John and Silvia’s house is progressing well and you can see the latest photos he sent below. The kids are continuing to grow up fast and are doing well at school.

Simon got a very good write up for his new children’s version of his Hal Spacejock book in the newspaper and it seems to be very popular with the kids.

Jo, Alex and Lizzie are still entering art works in various shows and competitions and winning prizes. Photos Apart from those main events bowls is still going well and Mike is still walking and painting (no prizes yet!). You can see his latest project on his oil painting blog. We had a very nice evening out with our friends from Kalamunda at the Chinese Restaurant there.

Here’s some photos of flowers and the river Mike took on his walks and a bob tail lizard outside our front door!

Enjoy! See you all again next month!
