Mike's birthday was the first event this month. We spent it quietly as all the family were busy doing other things on the actual day.
The next day Jo took him to a nude drawing/painting art class, which he enjoyed, naturally, as his birthday present, and in the evening we went round to Jo's for tea with Tricia and John as well, so we had a very pleasant evening. Simon cooked the paella.
I’m now playing lots of bowls and am pleased to say that our team won the Ladies Championship Fours at the club! We were all very thrilled as we had come so close to it last year as Runners Up! All the games we played were nail biters as our club ladies are all very good players.
Unfortunately me and my Friday bowls partner got knocked out of the Mixed Pairs Championships in the ¼ finals – maybe we’ll win that next year!
Next was Lizzie’s birthday and once again we went round to Jo’s to celebrate that too.
The last event this month was my 70th birthday!!! How time flies! Mike and I spent it quietly. We had a drive up into the hills to have lunch in the Melville Heritage Rose Garden, and took some lovely photos of the roses while we were there.

As Jo and family all had things on during the day, we went round there after tea for birthday cake (and pressies!)
My ‘official’ birthday will be next month when all the family can be here together. John, Silvia and the children will be coming up for that too, so the photos will be on the November blog update.
Jo, Alex and Lizzie continue to win prizes for their art and Simon is working hard on his Hal Spacejock (children’s version) books at the moment.
John and Silvia’s house is progressing, although there have been a few problems, as there always are when building a new house. I will put some photos up next month as I have quite a lot for this month and November is usually a quieter month for us.
Mike is still walking and painting and puts his latest paintings up on his Mike's Paintings blog as he does them, so have a look when you get a minute.
