Here’s the news for March! It’s been a very hectic month once again, so this time there’s lots of photos but not much text, chuckle!
Firstly was the Kent Street Weir Arts and Crafts show where Mike and Jo displayed some of their works.

Jo brought all her stuff on her bike and trailer! Here she is after packing up and ready to cycle home.

John and Silvia celebrated their 11th Wedding Anniversary this month, but as they were down in Denmark (WA) and busy with getting final things done for the new house, we didn’t get any photos, lol! They did have a nice lunch out though, they said.
We have been renovating our kitchen, which has had nothing done to it since Mike made the white top cupboards a few years after we moved in – and that’s a long time ago! We still have to make another cupboard under the left hand side work top but the tiling along the back wall is now finished and it all looks very slick! I did put a couple of photos in last month’s update, but here’s some new ones as well.
Before renovations:
Work in progress....
Tiles on the back wall still have to be done......(latest - that was finished yesterday!)
Mike made all the aluminium strips and handles himself.
The new oven.......
and hot plate.
We went for a short break to visit John, Silvia and the children in Denmark (WA) hoping to be able to help with a bit of painting and decorating in the new house before they moved in. Unfortunately the builder didn’t give them their keys until 3 days before we left for home again, so we couldn’t do much.
However, by the time you read this they should be moved in and enjoying the ensuing chaos of sorting out what goes where, chuckle! Here’s some photos we took of the house while we were there. There is still some finishing off to be done inside and also still a lot to do outside!
Here we are about to ask the 'Awesome Floors' man if we could have a quick look before he started to varnish.

The lounge
The Kitchen (there is now also a very attractive oval centre bench made of wood where you can see the wiring for it)
The Hall - all door frames and cupboard surrounds will eventually be painted white.
Bedroom cupboards
Emil's bedroom - he helped to paint the blue wall! (since these photos, all floors are now varnished)

After finally getting the keys, John carries Silvia over the threshold!
The next day a big daddy roo came to visit!

And here’s some of the holiday (not necessarily in the order they were taken!)
Our overnight stop on the way down in the van at Pingelly - 6.30am getting ready to get on the road again!

After a swim we watched the sunset and had a picnic pasta tea cooked by John using our van

All the rest of the family are OK and also very busy, Jo and Alex with their art, Lizzie with school and Simon writing and giving talks.
Well, that’s about it for now. Mike maybe updating his Mike Downunder and Painting blogs too during the next 2 or 3 days – if he gets time! - so you might like to visit them too.
Enjoy! See you all again next month.
