The weather here has been very hot since Christmas, but I have managed to continue playing a lot of bowls.
In the Pennants, we finally ended up coming 2nd on the ladder for our Division, and all our team - Linda, Eileen, me and Betty -  have enjoyed the season immensely, as we have a lot of fun and whether we win or lose a game, always have a good laugh.
Hopefully I may get a photo of two of our Pennant 'wind up' party soon, which I will put up on next month's blog. It was a very good party with excellent food and we had lots of fun with the Karaoke and dancing (if you could call it that - jigging about, more like, chuckle!)

I lost the Ladies Championship Singles Plate, but did manage to get one or two bowls near the Jack, chuckle!

Mine are the brown bowls, chuckle!

Me in action!

Betty, Eileen and me managed to win the Ladies Championship Triples Plate. (We still have the Ladies Championship Pairs and the '100 Up' to play in March/April)

Mike has also been walking, even sometimes with his big knapsack on wheels in the hope that he may be able to do another walk in Spain this coming winter (that's summer for all you Northern Hemisphere people!) Here's a couple of photos of his spring loaded tow bar.

We have also been growing some of our own vegetables with a fair amount of success - which is amazing for us, who do not like or very often do gardening, chuckle! We have picked over 40 courgettes/zucchinis and lots of radishes. Needless to say it has meant I have also had to do more cooking to use them up, but we have also given a lot away to family and friends. We are now about to start on the capsicums.

Over the past week we have been trying to clear out the garage and sheds of all unnecessary clutter as we have a council verge collection coming up. In this hot weather it's not the best of jobs, but Mike is doing most of it while I keep the normal household things going.

All the rest of the family are fit and well at the moment, I'm pleased to say, though Simon gave us a bit of a scare when a piece of wood hit his eye while he was using the chain saw. Luckily it has all healed up OK.

Well, that's about it for now - see you all again next month.
Enjoy!
