Hello again
 |
Silvia and John - Happy Anniversary! |
Here's our March news and photos, which starts off with our short break in Denmark with John, Silvia and the grandchildren, mainly so we could be there for their Wedding Anniversary.
We left in the evening and decided to have a night's stop about 17kms North of Kojonup on the way down to break the journey. The weather was perfect for travelling, not too hot, and we were greeted with a cool, sunny morning next day.

A morning hug for the tree! |
When we arrived in Denmark, we got a text from John saying that he and Emil were having surfing lessons at Ocean Beach, so after unloading some food etc from the van at John's, we went to watch them.

He got knocked over by a wave and nearly lost his bathers! | |

It looks a lot like hard work to me!

Next morning Mike took some photos of the local Kangaroos and John and Silvia's chickens, which have grown quite big now, and they have also had another batch since Christmas.

We parked our van in its usual spot outside the house - there are no camping fees here, chuckle!
One of the reasons we visited at this time was because it was John and Silvia's wedding anniversary. They had arranged to have some friends round for 'brunch'. All the children ate first - here's some photos.

I have to admit now that we had been drinking champagne cocktails while the children were eating, so by the time we sat down for our meal, we had forgotten about taking anymore photos!
We stayed at the house for couple of days, taking some more photos and also did a bit of local sightseeing.

Some local views of rough seas!
We went off for an overnight stay in Walpole at the Rest Point camping site and had a lovely time there, although it was only a short stop. We had a nice stroll along the bay the evening we arrived, then a longer walk next morning to Sandy Beach. Mike managed to fall over on the way, but fortunately he didn't hurt himself, chuckle!

Mike cooked the evening meal, while I took the photos, chuckle!

Awaiting the feast! |
 |
And very nice it was too! |
Next morning we did the bush walk from Rest Point to Sandy Beach and back. You can see from the photos it is a very narrow path with very steep sides above and below it!
This is where Mike fell! (Probably concentrating on taking the photo and not looking where he was going, chuckle!) Luckily he fell forwards and not sideways down the bank!

Is this an Alien or a Dinosaur? |
 |
No! I'm not as fat as that - I have a baggy shirt on! Look at the size of this felled tree! |
On the way back to Denmark, we called in at Peaceful Bay. It was a beautiful day and it really was peaceful - I even had a paddle!
When we got back to John's, he was in the middle of making a model aeroplane

Over the next couple of days we had some walks and Mike also took Emil fishing (for the 2nd time) but they still had no luck. Emil had also taken his kite, so they had some fun flying that instead.
 |
We walked from the town to the Inlet along the river.... |
 |
..and saw a Pelicon herding some fish to catch. |
 |
Mike and Emil didn't catch any fish, but found this dead one on the beach! It was huge! |
Instead of fishing, they flew Emil's kite.
Soon it was time to go home. We had another lovely meal with them all, then left in the evening, deciding to stop overnight on the way back as we had done on the way down. We'd had a really lovely time!
 |
John's plane - all he needed was the engine! |
 |
Farewell photo - you may be able to spot the moon just to the right of John's head.... |
 |
....if not you can see it in this photo! |

|
While we were away, exciting things were happening to Jo and family. Jo and Alex had paintings in an exhibition and Alex won the main Youth prize for her picture of Jo......
.......and Lizzie had a 'dress up' street parade one morning and her School Formal ball in the evening!

Lastly Mike took some photos of a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets nesting - here's the best one!
Well that's all our news for now - I hope it wasn't too much all at once, chuckle!
See you all again next month
Enjoy!
