September 2014

Hello again from me!

Mike is busy building a model aeroplane at the moment so I am once again doing the blog.
Everyone has been doing different things this month.
Firstly as Jo and Alex would be in Italy on holiday on Mike's 75th birthday, we decided to celebrate it instead on Father's Day with a champagne breakfast. This was also a good time for John, Silvia and the family to come up for the weekend, so we had all our family there, which doesn't happen very often these days with everybody leading such busy lives. It was a really lovely day.

The birthday boy, chuckle!

Some of the family......

....more of the family.
John, Silvia and the children had a weekend away with friends at Bremer Bay and John sent these photos - looks like they had a great time!

3 kids in a boat!

Such a strong wind - enough to blow your hat on!

This must have been a great bike ride!

Apart from the above, John and Emil are still making model aeroplanes and they are also doing a drumming course at the moment. (Anything Dad can do, Emil can do better, chuckle!)

Jo and Alex seem to be enjoying their holiday in Italy. They are now doing the rounds of galleries and other interesting places, especially as they both have so much interest in art.

In the meantime, Simon and Llizzie are busy at home, Simon with his writing etc and Lizzie still up to her eyes in homework and exams!

Mike is still walking when he can and when the weather allows. His knee has improved recently and the swelling has gone down. In between walks he has been doing a bit of gardening and also, like John and Emil, making a model aeroplane - with a difference, his is made of aluminium cans!

Since these photos quite a lot has been done to it, so there should be more photos next month.

While he has been busy walking and model making, I have been bowling, doing some experimental cooking and the usual mundane housewifely things, chuckle!

On Mike's 'real' birthday we had a lovely evening out with Tricia and John - good food, wine and lively conversation! Here's a photo of Mike I took when we got home.

Now here's some photos of our garden.......

A branch from this oak tree in the local park area fell on Emil's head when he was here! (He was trying to climb it, chuckle!
