Hello again!
Firstly we would like to wish you all a very
Merry Christmas
and a
Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
Not a lot happening this month except for Simon's birthday and Jo winning lots of prizes for her art! Oh! and our Pennant team doing very well at the start of the season, but more of that later.
Here's some photos of Si's birthday, for which Jo cooked a superb roast dinner for us, Si and Lizzie and also made the cake!

As I mentioned earlier, Jo has been doing really well with her Art and winning loads of prizes. The photos below were taken at the Cannington Show where she took out the Perpetual Trophy for the most points in Painting and Drawing. It will now have 3 brass plates with her name on them - for 2012, 2014 and 2015!!

Now to bowls! For those of you in the UK who don't know about how Pennants works, I'll try to explain. I am in 1st Division Green in our club, which is made up of 3 teams of 4 ladies in each team and we play other clubs every Tuesday. Each team gets 1 point for winning their game and the Division gets 3 more points if they get the aggregate (most shots up). Sometimes just one team can win and still get the aggregate if they have more shots up than the opposition has with their other 2 winning teams. In the 3rd, 4th and 5th weeks our team of four won 40-6, 35-15 and 35-7! For this we got Rink of the Week each time, which is the team in our club out of all the teams that play (we have 4 divisions playing) who has the highest score. On the week we won 40-6 we also got an 8 badge, having managed to get all our 8 bowls (2 bowls each) nearest the jack with no opposition bowls there! For this we will get an '8 badge' each. So we have got off to a really good start. Now I'm not usually into bragging but.......!!
Here's a photo of our team celebrating our 8 badge with champagne after the game. It's a bit blurred, but then so were we, chuckle!

John and Silvia are still enjoying their stay in Germany and there was snow in the hills behind them recently, so they spent some time there enjoying it. Emil, Maya and Benjamin have never experienced snow before. Here's some photos of the fun in the snow!
