June 2016

Hello again
This month has flown past, but we don't seem to have done a lot, chuckle! We've had some very rainy days interspersed with sunny but very cold ones as it's really winter here now. Our wood stove has been burning brightly every evening, which makes it nice and cosy indoors.

At the moment we are in the midst of our Federal Election campaign (on 2nd July) and as far as we can see they are all as bad as each other at promising things which are later retracted!

To more important things - chuckle! - here's some photos etc to keep you up with what we've been doing during June. We've managed a few walks to the Kent Street weir and back, and Mike has even managed to walk further on to Riverton Bridge a couple of times, so his ankles are gradually improving (or he's getting used to the pain, chuckle!). I'm still bowling twice a week, weather permitting.

Firstly, our eldest granddaughter, Alex, is now on posters advertising Murdoch University, where she and Lizzie are students! We are now waiting for talent spotters to find her, chuckle, so we will be grandparents to somebody famous!

and here's the link to the Murdoch website where there is also a short video. Alex is the 3rd student who appears in it.

She is doing well at Uni as is Lizzie, who also plays soccer at the weekends.

John sent us some photos taken at the Denmark Festival of Voice, so here's a selection of them.

The only major family event this month was Simon's Dad John's birthday celebration, which was a very good paella at the farm. Unfortunately Alex and Lizzie had other arrangements for the afternoon, so they all arrived early for breakfast, as they would not be there for the paella.

It was a chilly but sunny day, so we were able to eat outside.

'You're not allowed to touch the paella!' says Thomas, with Daniel and Aveni

Almost finished!

More cake!

The paella was a good one, with some of John and Tricia's friends also amongst the company.
