Well not a lot has happened this month as apart from appointments for our annual medical checkups, I have been preparing for my trip to the UK for Marion's 80th birthday! Mike will be here holding the fort til I get back.
Anyway, here are some local photos we've taken. I bought myself a new very small camera to use while I'm away, so have been practising using it before I go.
A type of Cormorant with a throat full of fish! |
Reflections!! |
Maisie ........ |
....me and Mike having a cuppa on the patio. |
The above 2 photos were on a lovely Autumn day........but then the rains started....!!!
Catching water from the roof during a downpour. |
Fruit on our front garden tree...... |
The red-tailed black cockatoos come round and strip bits off the tips of the branches and leave a big mess on the ground under this tree. In the photo on the left you can see where they have bitten a bit off. They hold the bits in their claws and eat the kernels, then drop the rest! They prefer the fruit when it is green.
In my photo below, you can see something bright green. This was a 'bird' kite Mike put in the tree to deter the cockatoos, but it didn't work, chuckle!
Here's my new camera photos.
Our 'Spanish Flag' bush, which has done very well this year |
This tree in the park looks a bit like a type of willow |
Mike, getting back into walking again. |
This photo should be in next month's blog, as it was taken on the 1st June - the first day of winter here!
Keeping ourselves warm! |
Other news is that Emil, Maya and Benjamin did extremely well playing in the Albany Eisteddfod this year, with Emil and Benjamin getting 1st prize (Emil got 90 I think and Benjamin 80 I think) and Maya a good 4th with only 4 points between her and the other top 3 contestants in her group (she got 87 and 1st had 91, so she didn't miss out by much!). John and Silvia are always very busy with work and to-ing and fro-ing the kids to various places and events locally. John and Emil still do gigs occasionally and Silvia is into various community projects. We usually manage to get to chat to them on Skype quite regularly, as we do with Jo too. She is also keeping well and happy and is getting into her Art again, as well as still house/pet sitting for her friends down there.
We haven't heard from Alex and Liz for a while - they lead such busy lives - but apparently Liz now has a new job where Nathan works, which is good, and they (the girls) are both well and happy.
That's it for now. Next month's blog will be late as I'll not be back from UK til nearly mid July, so I may combine June and July together.
Enjoy!
