Well here we are again!
Apart from our Anniversary, which I covered in last month's blog, not much of interest happened until the last couple of weeks of April, when we went down to Denmark for first Jo's then Silvia's birthdays. There are quite a lot of photos and three short videos - that's if I've managed to make the videos small enough to upload without any problems! So here we go!
We went down a couple of days before Jo's birthday as Mike was going to get new spectacles from the optometrist down there as we know him and his receptionist very well, chuckle! and he hadn't been happy with the optometrist up here in Perth with his last pair of glasses.
John and family were away camping for a few days, then off to Fairbridge Festival where John and Emil were playing with the Sneeches band.
We managed to get some nice walks in each morning after coffee in one of the local cafes, and only got completely drenched once. The rest of the time it was a bit overcast, with a little drizzle some days, but not cold. On the 2 Saturdays of Jo and Silvia's birthdays the weather was absolutely perfect!

Happy Birthday Jo! |
Here's the budgie - full of arthritis, and nearly 14 years old but still going strong! He does fall off his perch now and then, but has a nice ladder inside his cage to help him get up again.

On Jo's birthday, me and Mike took her out to lunch to The Pepper and Salt Restaurant in Denmark. The meal was absolutely beautiful to look at and to eat! Here's a photo of Jo and me and some of the dishes we had.

Desserts - Obsession by Chocolate..... |
|
.......Lemon curd fantasia?...... |
|
.....and Caramel Popcorn Tiramisu?...... |
They were all delicious, but I can't remember all the names properly! I can however highly recommend the restaurant!
Here's a few pictures of things seen on our walks.
These birds were black Ibises and I counted 45 of them all perched on the old dead tree at one time!
Now lets see if these videos work!
Some of the flowers.......
Silvia's birthday was next, and what a fun day that was! After a lovely birthday breakfast, John and family prepared food for a late lunch BBQ at Mad Fish Bay.

The visit to Mad Fish Bay was a little disconcerting at first. When we got there, Benjamin dashed into the water with his body board, and had a lot of fun in the shallow part in the waves in front of us, before suddenly and without warning, he was picked up at great speed by a surge, which took him to where the waves met from each side, and he got caught in a 'rip' so there was panic amongst the troops for a while. Luckily all of them are good swimmers and Emil dashed out and managed to help him back in. He said Benjamin kept his cool and did what Emil told him to do so he now knows what to do and what not to do should it happen again - but somehow I don't think it will!! Once he was back on the beach calm was restored and we all enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. (It didn't keep Benjamin out of the water - he went in body boarding again, but John went in with him, chuckle!) Here's some photos of the BBQ and beach views, and a video showing how the wave surges in the shallow water meet from both sides.

Here's the video of the waves. Emil said it was the roughest he had ever seen them at Mad Fish Bay.
That's it for now. Once again, with a bit of luck and if they don't change or update this blog program, there will be another blog next month.
Enjoy!
