March 2015

Hello again

Here's the news and photos for March. We started off with a visit from John, Silvia and family, as Emil was to recieve an award from UWA (University of Western Australia for those of you in the UK and Europe) for a violin exam he took earlier in the year for which he got an A+ and excellent report. John and Silvia also celebrated their wedding anniversary while they were here. They stayed with us for a couple of days, then went up to Dieter's before going home again. It was lovely to see them all.

Here's some bike photos

We didn't get any photos of Maya and Benjamin this time - Sorry Maya and Benjamin, Granddad forgot! They did have some lovely times in the pool though.

Also this month we were invited by our good friends Chris and Megan for a meal at the Golden Eagle Chinese Restaurant in Kalamunda, which was very nice and we had a very pleasant time catching up on and exchanging news.

John sent us a photo of his latest model plane, which looks quite striking I reckon!

Jo is still painting a lot and Simon and the girls are keeping busy doing all sorts of stuff and Lizzie seems to be enjoying uni life. Alex and Lizzie are out and about a lot with their friends, so we don't see a lot of them, but as long as they are enjoying themselves, that's the main thing, chuckle!

Now here's some more local photos

Such a peaceful life!

Me and Jo at the weir - yes, I cycle too sometimes!

Our Lilly Pilly
We have had a good crop of Lilly Pillys this year and for the first time decided to try eating them. They are delicious with yoghurt and have a sharp apple kind of taste, but you have to remove the stones first as they are very bitter. I discovered on the internet that jam or sauces can be made from them too, but we prefer to eat them as is!

Mike cycles most mornings now and meets Jo for coffee and a chat and I go about twice a week too. His ankle seems to be improving a bit, so he sometimes does a short walk too while he's out.

The bowls season is practically finished now except for - in April - the Easter Pairs, Des Coote Memorial Day and the L.J.Hooker Champagne Breakfast, all of which I will be participating in, chuckle! After that comes the Awards night in May when winners receive their awards, then it's just the winter social games.

Well, that's it for now see you all again next month (maybe!)

Enjoy!
