Hello again
We've had rather an exciting month with various things happening with the grandchildren - summary being Emil in Denmark Senior High School's musical comedy 'Bats' in which he played Igor the pathetic hunchback, and Maya and Benjamin playing in a recital in Albany. Alex and Dan are off to Austria to study for a few months and Lizzie has got an internship (mainly training) in Software Development for Business. (I wonder where they all get their various talents from, chuckle!)
Benjamin also celebrated his 10th birthday.
John was in the USA on a training course with the company he works for when it was Benjamin's birthday and the musical and recital were on, so we went down to help Silvia with all the to-ing and fro-ing for the last minute rehearsals etc as they were all in different places and at different times. We had intended to stay a bit longer after all the fun bits, but I unfortunately slipped off a small bench and badly hurt my right wrist (no, I hadn't had a drink!). Consequently we came home early rather than make more work for Silvia as I wasn't much help after that!
Before we went down, we had a lot of rain! Here's some photos and a video of the floods around the Canning river. It didn't help that there is a lot of work going on at the moment at the weir itself, as they have taken the old bridge away and have put up a temporary one.

Now here's some photos of Benjamin's birthday, including lots of lego and a slate board made by Emil.
In the afternoon, after school, we had birthday tea
Here's part of one of the videos we took of Emil in the school musical comedy 'Bats'. Emil - with the long hair - is playing Igor the pathetic hunchback
This is Benjamin playing cello and Maya playing violin in the recital in Albany. Maya was put in to play at the last moment as one of the original trio didn't turn up. Luckily she had played her part with Benjamin at home when he was practicing. (You may notice part of the bow of the third player in the trio, but I had to cut her out as we were not allowed to take photos/videos of some of the children)
After all the excitement of a very full 3 days, and during lulls in the very inclement weather, we went to Greens Pool. This is the roughest we have ever seen the sea there. It was quite spectacular!
Recently we walked along to the weir and found this very strange looking and huge caterpillar!
That's it for another month. See you all again next time hopefully!
Enjoy!
