Another month has flown by - where does the time go! Not a lot going on this month except for John's birthday which we went down to Denmark for.
Jo came up to stay for a few days, which was nice, and we went out and about with her. She has also been off camping in her van while she had some free time and thoroughly enjoying it.
We keep in touch with Alex & Chris and Liz & Nathan via Skype and they are both happy in their respective new homes, Alex and Chris in Adelaide and Liz and Nathan in Joondana which is north of Perth, but still in the metropolitan area. In both cases they are very close to their work places so no long trips morning and evening getting there and back home again!
Emil, Maya and Benjamin all had good school reports and are doing well. We will be seeing them and John and Silvia again when we go down for the High School play soon.
Here's the photos we took when we stayed in a chalet at Che Sara Sara for John's birthday weekend. It was a lovely place between Bow Bridge and Walpole, in the forest and by a river. Jo was unable to join us as The Mill Art group, which she is a member of, had an exhibition on that weekend.
We had birthday cake for afternoon tea when we arrived at the chalet.
Silvia, John the birthday boy and Mike Emil made the cake and Maya decorated it. |

While John and the kids went exploring, Silvia and I (mostly Silvia!) prepared a lovely roast lamb dinner for the evening meal!

While we were there Mike and Benjamin did a bit of fishing, John and Maya went for a nice gentle canoe trip, and Benjamin and Emil decided to be a bit more adventurous in their canoe in the rapids, chuckle! They came back utterly exhausted! There was a lovely wood fire in the house so me and Silvia spent most of our time around that generally relaxing. We didn't get a lot of rain, but it was a bit cold outside.
Back in Denmark, I took these photos of a flowering cherry tree from the patio of our favourite cafe (The Denmark Bakery)
When we got back home to Perth, we had a lovely lunch with our friends Dave and Eileen one Sunday having a good laugh and putting the world to rights. Eileen gave me her bowls to try out, as they are smaller than mine and a little lighter, so I am able to handle them better than mine with my arthritic right hand thumb. I've been playing very well with them so have them for good now, and was a winner on 2 consecutive days recently!
Mike hasn't done a lot of walking as the weather has been very unpredictable, but he has gone when he can. He spends a lot of time chopping wood for the fire, and has done a lot of jobs around the place between downpours!
John gave us a tomato plant a while back, which we just stuck in the garden in it's pot, not expecting it to do much at this time of year, but as you can see from the photos below, it has since flowered and we now have 2 small tomatoes on it - not yet ripe, but doing well. Since the photos were taken, there is now another smaller tomato forming! The whole plant is now looking very healthy! When we spotted the tomatoes forming, we moved it into a sunnier spot.
Well, that's it for now. See you again in a month's time!
Enjoy!
